Designed by Graham Cooke & Associates and opened in 1992, the award winning Platinum rated Crown Isle golf course is superbly manicured and maintained. Playable by golfers at all levels, the golf course is designed in a resort style with a dynamic set of tees to meet the needs of any guest or member. With 11 lakes, views of the Beaufort mountain range and verdant fairways, the championship golf course has won many awards, and is a remarkable example of spectacular BC golf.
The Crown Isle golf course is a Par 72, 18-hole course is the centre piece of the master planned community and also offers a superb driving range with chipping & putting greens, and practice bunkers. Guests and residents enjoy the playability of a golf course such as Cordova Bay in Victoria and the picturesque views of Banff Springs Golf Club in Alberta.
From a horticultural standpoint the grounds crew plant over 10,000 annuals every year. They are accompanied by the extensive use of Rhododendrons and Azaleas that are strategically located to make your golf experience a colorful one. The amazing panoramic view in any direction with the spectacle of the stunning Comox Glacier will be etched in your mind forever.
The golf course is maintained in accordance with the highest Audubon Society standards. They are situated on the migratory path of numerous bird species passing north and south. Many local species such as the Ring Necked Pheasant make Crown Isle golf course their home. Bald Eagles and Turkey Vultures are seen daily in addition to numerous species of waterfowl seen in our many golf course lakes.
Crown Isle’s “Green” status has been showcased in periodicals and has set the local industry standard. The green’s team at Crown Isle golf course have been successful in achieving a 33% reduction in water use while nurturing our fabulous golf course. Additionally they have eliminated the use of insecticides for over 10 years and their annual consumption of herbicide is less than a measured cup.
