Why You Should Golf Columbia Valley

Columbia Valley Golf Trail is made up of eight different golf courses, located between the Radium Hot Springs and the Fairmont Hot Springs. Just in case you’re not familiar with the courses, or you’re having trouble deciding between one course or another, here’s a brief overview of each course’s highlights.  

The Springs:  

  • Ranked as one of the top 59 public courses in Canada by Score Golf in 2013
  • Set along the banks of the Columbia River
  • Operates from April to near the end of October
  • Has a driving range, but cart is extra.

Radium Resort Course:

  • Open since 1957; three new holes on the back nine in 2012. It is the oldest course in the valley.
  • Lots of elevation changes
  • No driving range, but the course is very walkable and carts are available.
  • Open April to October.

Eagle Ranch:

  • Close to/overlooks Lake Windermere and the Columbia River; has Rocky and Purcell Mountain views.
  • This course is not walkable, but a cart is included in the fee.
  • Open April to October.

Copper Point:

  • Newer championship course with views of the Kootenay Rockies
  • Open early April to early October
  • This course is not walkable; a cart is included. The cart has full colour GPS.
  • The course makes good use of the existing hills and ravines.

The Ridge at Copper Point:

  • Appeals to beginners and experts alike with full length par 3 and par 4 holes.
  • Wraps around Copper Point Resort
  • Open early April to early October
  • This course is walkable; a cart is not included but is available.

Greywolf:

  • Award-winning mountain golf course in Panorama Mountain Village
  • The signature hole, the “Cliffhanger” is noted to be one of the best in the world.
  • Rates include a brand new cart with GPS and complimentary range balls.

Riverside:

  • The Columbia River runs through this course, hence its name!
  • Open late March to late October
  • Walkable course, and a cart is not included, but available.

Mountainside:

  • Faces the west slopes of the Rockies, with views of Columbia Lake and Purcell Mountain range.
  • This course has been open for over 40 years.
  • Open late March to mid-October.
  • A walkable course; cart not included, but available.

Windermere:

  • Shorter 18-hole golf course
  • On-site restaurant and pro-shop
  • This course is walkable; cart is available but not included
  • Opening and closing dates are weather-dependant, but usually late March to late October.
