Vancouver Island is filled with scenic views and great golf. Combine the two and you’ve got attractions that draw people from all over the world. Here are some of Victoria, BC’s most gorgeous, scenic holes.
Pacific Nine Hole #8 – Highland Pacific Golf Course
This is the signature hole on the Pacific Nine for good reason. The three-sixty view of Victorian landscape includes mountains, trees, and a view of the ocean from an elevated terrain. It is truly one of the most beautiful holes on the island. But don’t get too distracted! Be aware of the water hazard left and the sand trap before the green.
Hole #17 – Olympic View Golf Club
This hole takes the cake for its Japanese garden and gorgeous 60-foot waterfall just behind the green. No wonder it’s the most photographed hole on the course. Shoot your tee shot down the middle of the fairway and then go for the pin with your second shot. It’s better to miss to the right than the left, because of the water hazards to the left.
Hole #10 – Cordova Bay Golf Course
Cordova boasts a par 4 in the middle of its course with a lot of beauty and a lot of bite. Woods and water are on the left, including a river that flows alongside the fairway, and circles around the green. You’ll have two forced carries over the water to the two-tiered green.
Hole #17 – Arbutus Ridge Golf Club
The large peninsula green is the main feature here, and is bigger than it looks from afar. The imposing water hugging the green plus the mountains in the backdrop are truly a special sight. Don’t go right on this one–lay up if you’re a shorter hitter, and don’t worry too much about the wind, as it’s less of a problem than you may think.
